Official Young Chef Young Waiter Competition

SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF HOSPITALITY – CELEBRATING 45 YEARS

World Young Chef Young Waiter and Young Mixologist, promotes hospitality as a career of choice, a profession, and a vocation. Established in 1979, the competition was relaunched in 2019 in partnership with UKHospitality and the Restaurant Association.

The winners of the World Young Chef Young Waiter Competition 2023 were announced at a special awards dinner in Monaco on Friday 24th November at the Salle Empire in Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo.

The winners of the World Young Chef Young Waiter competition were Chef Ian Tan, Waiter Belle Torres, and Mixologist Zana Mohlmann, all from Singapore.

The world champions were chosen from nine Chefs, nine Waiters, and four Mixologists from England, Wales, Singapore, Ireland, the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Monaco, USA and Scotland. Finalists were judged by a panel of esteemed culinary experts, food critics, and industry leaders. Among the esteemed chef judges were Adam Handling, Mario Perera, Michael Kwan, Emanuele Del Signore, Paul Walsh, and Adam Thomason. The waiter judges included Simon King, Andy Downton, George Heresy, and Daniele Giovinazzo. Meanwhile, the mixologist judges were Anna Sebastian, Yann Bouvignies, Paul Robinson, and Jerome Schrotz.

9 Young Chefs and 9 Young Waiters and 4 Young Mixologist from our competing countries gathered in Monaco for the World Young Chef Young Waiter Finals at the Lycèe Rainier III on 23rd-24th November 2023

All 22 World Finalists took part in a range of tasks devised by an expert judging panel which was whittled down to 3 winning chef and waiter pairs and 1 winning mixologist

2020 FINALS

The exciting Young Chef Young Waiter 2020 Competition Finals took place in London in 4 locations over 3 days in May 2021. The events had been rescheduled from late 2020 due to the series of UK lockdowns and were run in line with government guidelines.
