Dr Ramin Wali, Managing Parter of LLB Investment introduces YYY Lithuania. The Young Chef Young Waiter and Young Mixologist Lithuania competition not only promotes young talents, but also the culinary art of a country in a global context, helping the country in becoming a food and drink tourism destination.
Given that culinary tourism did not exist in London 30 years ago, the city is now the epicentre of gastronomic travel. This, in turn, contributes significantly to the UK’s GDP. Today gastronomy tourism counts for more than 4% of the UK GDP.
Covid had a significant negative impact on the industry, and ever since, the gastronomy sector has struggled to find high-quality employees. The hospitality industry can be a very rewarding sector, both financially and emotionally.
The Young Chef Young Waiter and Young Mixologist competition will encourage more young people to join vocational education and help the shortage of staff within the gastronomy industry.
As a businessman and fund manager, I am quite aware of how important gastronomy experiences are for attracting investors into the country. I believe the Young Chef Young Waiter competition can put Lithuania on the global platform for excellent culinary experiences. I am very excited that both presidents of Lithuania and UK restaurant and hotel associations are supporting this event. I hope to see the Lithuanian winners this November in the international competition in Monaco.” – Dr Ramin Wali, Managing Parter of LLB Investment introduces YCYW Lithuania.
Also, many thanks to the Radisson group and the Institute of Vocational Education in Lithuania for all their help and support.
