16th October 2023: The live finals of Young Chef Young Waiter Ireland 2023 took place at the iconic Titanic Belfast, for a one-day competition on Tuesday 19th September 2023. Four Young Chefs and Waiters across Ireland competed in the prestigious competition to be titled YCYW Ireland winner 2023.
Stiofán Feeney working at Aroma, Palazzo Manredi, Rome has been titled YCYW Ireland Chef Winner 2023 and Francesca Motta working at Chapter One Restaurant has been titled YCYW Ireland Waiter Winner 2023. Congratulations to both vying and diligent culinary talents who will now go on to represent Ireland in the World finals. The World finals will be taking place in November, at the Lycée Rainier III, formally the Lycèe Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco.
During the Ireland Finals 2023, the Young culinary professionals engaged in a diverse range of tasks. The Young Chefs showcased their culinary arts by preparing a three-course meal within 3.5 hours. The Young Waiters demonstrated their exceptional service and professionalism by engaging in a series of challenging scenario based tasks such as pairing wines for each course.
Stiofán and Francesca’s exceptional talent, proficiency, and dedication to the art of culinary impressed the judges which is a testament to their passion and their to pushing the boundaries of gastronomy and hospitality.
The respected panels of Judges include Group Executive Chef at Harcourt Developments Gordon Smyth, Noel McMeel of Ebrington Hotel, Mike Tweedie of Adare Manor and Adrian McNally, Titanic Hotel Belfast were joined by other esteemed advocates for new talent.
Young Chef Young Waiter Ireland’s goal is to encourage hospitality and culinary as a career of choice, a profession, and a vocation to a new generation. YCYW Ireland is open to all young professional chefs and waiters under 28 years of age, from any background.
