Winners of Young Chef Young Waiter Monaco 2023

Young Chef Young Waiter Monaco has crowned Jordan Callen Chef Winner of YCYW Monaco 2023 and Daryl Danican Waiter Winner of YCYW Monaco 2023. Young Mixologist has crowned Luigi Giannini Young Mixologist Monaco Winner 2023.

16th October 2023: Congratulations to Jordan Callen and Daryl Danican for winning YCYW Monaco 2023 and Luigi Giannini for winning YM Monaco 2023. The Monaco 2023 live finals took place at the iconic Lycée Rainier III on the 5th October 2023. Four young chefs, four young waiters and 2 young mixologists all showcased their exceptional skills and talent throughout the prestigious culinary competition.

Young Chef Young Waiter Monaco is open to all young culinary professionals aged 28 and under. The YCYW Monaco competition is a tribute of Monaco’s commitment and dedication to nurturing and promoting outstanding talents in the hospitality industry. This event not only provides a platform for young professionals to shine but also reinforces Monaco’s devotion to recognising culinary skills as a vocation and profession.

At the YCYW Monaco 2023 awards ceremony, Prince Albert II personally congratulated each winner. The announcement of the winning chef, waiter, and mixologist was made by Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Principality of Monaco to UNESCO.

The winners of Young Chef Young Waiter and Young Mixologist Monaco 2023 will now embark on a journey to represent Monaco on the global stage. They will face off against the champions from eight other countries in the highly anticipated World Young Chef Young Waiter competition. This international culinary showdown will take place on the 23rd and 24th of November 2023, hosted once again at the renowned Lycée Rainier III.

The esteemed chef judging panel, was led by Christian Garcia, president of the Club des Chefs des Chefs, included Laurent Piolti, sous chef at the Hôtel Hermitage, Jean-Laurent Basile, chef at l’Hirondelle; Luc Gamel, sous chef at the Hôtel Hermitage, and Joël Garault, executive chef at the Hôtel Hermitage.

The hospitality judges included El Kadri Salah, restaurant director at Em Sherif, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Anne-Sophie Kordzinski, restaurant manager at Louis XV-Alain Ducasse Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, and Dominique Milardi, head sommelier at Méridien Beach Plaza Monte-Carlo and President of L’Association des sommeliers de Monaco.

The esteemed mixology judges were Paglia Guillaume, head barman at Trinity Monte-Carlo, and Philip Culazzo, owner of Distillerie de Monaco.
