44 years old, this historic competition has been revamped to encompass a new and dynamic format, fully supported, and endorsed by UKHospitality, the Restaurant Association, Culinary Institute of America, and the Great Campaign.
The competition finds the best Young Chef and Waiter across the globe to encompass a top list of finalists which for 2023 we aim to take on 15 countries expanding on the original 7 we placed in 2022. The Chef and Waiter finalists will then go on to compete for the prestigious award of becoming the World Champion Chef and Waiter 2023.
The competition process involves an online application from both Waiting Professionals and Chefs. This is judged by leading figures from the hospitality industry such as Head Chef Judge, Adam Handling and Head Waiter Judge Simon King. Supported by other leading hospitality professionals Mark Sargeant, Mario Perera, Michael Kwan, Simon Ganache, Andy Downton, Jayne Griffith Parry, and Xavier Richards.
2023 will see World Young Chef Young Waiter expanding to be bigger, better and, more sustainable than ever.
