Part of the World Young Chef Young Waiter Competition
Organized by Macau Culinary Association, supported by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Macao Institute For Tourism Studies (IFTM) and Wynn, the finalists for the 2022 Young Chef Young Waiter Macau competition have been announced.

The eight Macau finalists were chosen by Head Judges, Perry Yuen, Worldchefs Certified International Judge (certified by the World Association of Chefs Societies) and Edwy Tam, Coordinator for Food and Beverage Programmes at IFTM, alongside with 8 other leading figures in the hospitality.
The Final will be held at SW Steakhouse, Wynn Palace and the award ceremony will take place at the Wynn Palace Grand Theatre on 18 October 2022.
The winners will go on to compete in the spectacular World YCYW Final in Monaco, 15 –16 November 2022.
The World Young Chef Young Waiter Macau is supported also by Chef Works, Classic Fine Foods, Watsons Wines and The Macau Kitchenware Association.
The winner from Macau will design a winning menu and serve their national dishes to an internationally acclaimed judging panel headed up by Michelin-starred Chef Jason Atherton.
There will be an Olympic style celebration in the evening at The Maybourne Riviera to crown the winning Chef and Waiter, with the VIP guest of honour who heads up the Monaco principality.
The aim of Young Chef Young Waiter – Macao is simple: to uncover the very best young talent in our industry and help equip them with relevant skills, current knowledge and the network needed to succeed in the world of hospitality. Devised by respected professionals, the competition has a fresh modern approach that focusses on tasks and criteria that are challenging, educational and fun.
The Macau Culinary Association is a non-profit professional association which provides continuing education and development for its members who are engaged in the areas of culinary education, or in the preparation of food and drink in Macau.
The Macau Culinary Association was jointly founded by Raimund Pichlmaier and David Wong in 2007, to further develop the culinary standards within Macau, to give its members a sense of community, further enhance the exchange of ideas and experiences between like-minded culinary professionals in Macau and promote Macau as a gastronomy destination.
